Some say, Christmas is about the celebration of Christ's birth. A few say that it's all about the giving and receiving of gifts, while others say that it's merely about those noisy carolings on houses and jeepneys by annoying children.
Well, as early as November, Christmas carols are already heard almost everywhere. Magnificent Christmas lights and decors are all set in some houses, malls and other establishments. People began shopping for Christmas presents.
But behind those wonderful scenarios are the innocent eyes of those misfortunate ones on the streets, the poor families who, maybe in their entire life, haven't experienced yet the so called "noche buena". For them, Christmas is just one of those ordinary days on the cold streets, which they called home.
Lately, I see these individuals almost everyday, on my way to school and vice versa, but people just don't mind them. Sometimes I give them a peso or two, but oftentimes I don't. It's just that.. I'm afraid that they might use it to buy some rugby, or even illegal drugs. I would rather give them food. But everytme I ignore these poor ones, my conscience keeps on knocking in my heart. It's as if it's talking to me and reminding of God's words, "Help your brother".
It made me realize that, indeed, Christmas is about the celebration of Christ's birth, a reminder of how much God loves us that He gave his only begotten son, Jesus Christ. He sent His son to teach us to love one another, and so as to help our brothers who are needy.
This Christmas, may we extend our hands to our brothers who need our help, even a prayer for them will do. It's always been a nice feeling to know you've helped other people and made them happy even for a while. May we share some of our blessings to them, the graces which God had given to us.
Have you ever wonder why an application program running in a computer fails, halts, hangs or simply non-responsive to user. The cause of this frustrating situation is a deadlock. A set of processes is deadlocked if each process in the set is waiting for an event that only another process in the set can cause.
Here are some tips and tricks to escape on that particular stew: ☺ Go to the task manager by simply pressing the ctrl-alt and delete key simultaneously. ☺ Go to the application tab and locate the non-responsive program you need to end. ☺ Right click on the program and choose “end task”.
If this will not work or be it a more burden, try this :
☺ press ctrl-alt-del key again and right click on the program and choose “go to process”, which will re-direct you to the process tab. ☺ Locate the program, or it should be highlighted. ☺ Right click on the program and choose “end process” or “end process tree”.
If this will fail again... : ☺ go to the process tab and locate “explorer.exe”, ☺ right click and choose end process or end process tree. ☺ Go to the file menu of the task manager and select “New Task (Run...)”, ☺ type in explorer and the task bar should be returning and explorer should be visible on the process tab.
These procedures can help user minimise processes which consume system resources. By ending programs, applications or even system processes and task which are not essential to system performance can speed up your machine/computer.

How to speed up your system?
Try to imagine yourself on a tight schedule with loads of school activities, assignments, projects and semestral examination is fast approaching, when all of your resources can be found in your computer. Suddenly a turtle is faster than your computer's boot-up time. One cause of this is you have too many loaded programs and applications on your start-up items.
The area on your lower right side of your monitor, where you can find small icons. E.g. clock, volume control icon, antivirus icon, and so forth...This are program applications which are loaded during start-up, running on the background. This program will use system resources such as RAM (Memory), Processor time.
We can minimize this program by configuring these at the system configuration console, simply by"
☺ pointing and clicking your mouse pointer to the windows logo or start menu and locate the "run" tab. ☺ Click and type "msconfig". A window will appear and ☺ go to the start-up tab and there you can disable and enable those programs.
Be very careful not to disable essential system programs. Disabling essential system programs will create undesirable results.
The Little Boy Who Wanted to Buy a Doll For His Sister in Heaven
On the last day before Christmas, I hurried to go to the supermarket to buy the remaining of the gifts I didn't manage to buy earlier. When I saw all the people there, I started to complain to myself:
"It is going to take forever here and I still have so many other places to go... Christmas really is getting more and more annoying every year. How I wish I could just lie down, go to sleep and only wake up after it..."
Nonetheless, I made my way to the toy section, and there I started to curse the prices, wondering if after all kids really play with such expensive toys. While looking in the toy section, I noticed a small boy of about 5 years old, pressing a doll against his chest. He kept on touching the hair of the doll and looked so sad.
I wondered who was this doll for. Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him:
"Granny, are you sure I don't have enough money?"
The old lady replied: "You know that you don't have enough money to buy this doll, my dear." Then she asked him to stay here for 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly. The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand.
Finally, I started to walk toward him and I asked him who did he want to give this doll to.
"It is the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for this Christmas. She was so sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her." I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus will bring it to her, after all, and not to worry.
But he replied to me sadly. "No, Santa Claus can not bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mother so that she can give it to her when she goes there."
His eyes were so sad while saying this. "My sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy will also go to see God very soon, so I thought that she could bring the doll with her to give it to my sister."
My heart nearly stopped. The little boy looked up at me and said: "I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I asked him to wait until I came back from the store." Then he showed me a very nice photo of himself, where he was laughing. He then told me: "I also want mommy to take this photo with her so that she will not forget me." "I love my mommy and I wish she didn't have to leave me but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister."
Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly. I quickly reached for my wallet and took a few notes and said to the boy, "What if we checked again, just in case you have enough money?" "Ok" he said. "I hope that I have enough." I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll, and even some spare money.
The little boy said: "Thank you God for giving me enough money." Then he looked at me and added:"I asked yesterday before I slept for God to make sure I have enough money to buy this doll so that mommy can give it to my sister. He heard me." "I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn't dare to ask God too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and the white rose." "You know, my mommy loves white roses."
A few minutes later, the old lady came again and I left. I finished my shopping in a totally different state from when I started. I couldn't get the little boy out of my mind. Then I remembered a local newspaper article 2 days ago, which mentioned of a drunk man in a truck who hit a car where there was one young lady and a little girl. The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the life-assisting machine, because the young lady would not be able to come out of the coma that she was in. Was this the family of the little boy?
Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the newspaper that the young lady had passed away. I couldn't stop myself and went to buy a bunch of white roses and I went to the mortuary where the body of the young woman was exposed for people to see and make a last wish before burial. She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest. I left the place crying, feeling that my life had been changed forever. The love that this little boy had for his mother and his sister is still, to this day, hard to imagine. And in a fraction of a second, a drunk man had taken all this away from him.

Why do we have a decorated Christmas Tree?
In the 7th century a monk from Crediton, Devonshire, went to Germany to teach the Word of God. He did many good works there, and spent much time in Thuringia, an area which was to become the cradle of the Christmas Decoration Industry.
Legend has it that he used the triangular shape of the Fir Tree to describe the Holy Trinity of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The converted people began to revere the Fir tree as God's Tree, as they had previously revered the Oak. By the 12th century it was being hung, upside-down, from ceilings at Christmastime in Central Europe, as a symbol of Christianity.
The first decorated tree was at Riga in Latvia, in 1510. In the early 16th century, Martin Luther is said to have decorated a small Christmas Tree with candles, to show his children how the stars twinkled through the dark night.

Samsung has announced the birth of its latest mobile handset, the Samsung B7620 Giorgio Armani. This latest mobile phone of Samsung has a screen size of 3.5 inches, having a 16 million colors (65 thousand effective) resistive AMOLED touch screen of WVGA resolution, a TouchWiz 2.0 UI, Work & Leisure mode switch key, an 8GB storage, a QWERTY keyboard, runs under Windows Mobile 6.5, and features a 360 degree spin capability, a delicate framework and construction.
Corsair has recently launched its latest cooling technology, the Hydro H50 CPU Cooler. This new cooling system has a very powerful cooling technology that is believed that even such high temperature; it can dissipate heat on extreme CPU like quad core processor. This latest CPU cooling solution was developed by Corsair.
JVC has introduced its latest pocket camcorder, the GC-FM1 Picsio. This latest device is a new smart phone-sized pocket camcorder with four video and image modes. It allows you to make 1440 x 1080p recordings at 30 frames per second and 3264 x 2448 images. Captured video are in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format which will be save in a SD/SDHC memory cards with capacity of up to 32 GB.
The GC-FM1 Picsio has also image stabilization that minimizes camera shake, even when the 4X digital zoom is used. Other specifications include CMOS sensor, and HDMI connectivity. This latest gadget is available in three colors — Black Ice, Blue Steel and Purple Passion.
Acer Corporation has introduced its latest monitor, the Acer S243HL. This latest LCD monitor is the first LCD monitor in the market having a contrast of 8000000:1, with a resolution of Full HD 1920×1080. It is also the slimmest 24-inch widescreen display on the market, having a thickness of less than 15 millimeters. Moreover it has an integrated speaker located at the rack of the monitor, and also been equipped with the energy-saving white LED backlight. In comparison with traditional monitors, backlit CFFL, S243HL can reduce power consumption up to 63%.
8. Panasonic Lumix GF1 New Micro Four Thirds Camera
Panasonic has announced its latest and most compact Micro Four Thirds Camera, the Lumix GF1. The GF1 offers a 12-megapixel resolution with a 3-inch LCD viewfinder and an integrated flash. The camera stores images to SD/SDHC cards, and features optical image stabilization and a dust cleaning system to keep the sensor clear. This latest camera has 35% less volume and 26% lighter than the former G1. The GF1 has new techie features such as built-in flash and good focus speed.
Philips is about to launch its latest Google Android powered smartphone, the Philips V808. The Philips V808 is their second Android powered handset and it comes with a 3.2 inch HVGA touch screen display, a 3.2 mega pixel camera, mand micro SD card support up to 8GB. Other techie features of this android device include widget support and multimedia player including video and audio. The Philips V808 has a 1000 mAH battery which will likely last for several hours, and has a GSM/GPRS/EDGE for its connectivity.
Apple has finally upgraded its MacBook with much more powerful specs. The processor jumps from 2.13GHz to 2.26 GHz, the HDD from 160GB to 250GB, while the 2GB of DDR2 RAM has been replaced by the latest technology in memory module, the faster DDR3 memory. Visible changes include a new rubber bottom, glass multitouch trackpad, LED backlighting to go with its 13.3-inch display and a 7-hour built-in battery.

Ever since, I used to be quiet and simple that embodies the whole range of CCS sophomore students; struggling to maintain good scholastic record and as to never fail in our major subjects which we fated to believe that these are the keys for landing a better job and for our bright future as we explore the reality. My life as an IT student is never been easy since I am a naturalist and I am not used to of the advancement of modern technology like computer that diverges the whole wide world which is very relevant in my field of study.
Honestly, I am living far away from civilization where there is no such an aggressive access to newly and worldly gadgets. With the thought that life is so unfair, I was mistaken. Despite the tight barriers, with a heart hungered in knowledge of computer literacy, I enrolled in a computer related course. It was a bit terrific yet nerve-breaking when I got to realize that my course is more challenging than I expected it to be especially when I met one of the hardest subjects I ever encountered - PROGRAMMING II.
It never comprehended me at first. The subject was really mean for me but God is really good for bestowing us Ms.Sheryl B. Satorre, one of the best teachers in CCS. She has the edge, intellectual ideas, patience and methods of teaching us. With her might, I was educated. Yes! I even failed in her subject before in my prelim grade for my negligence and carelessness. My course taught me not only technically but also the bearable virtues which we all need in the real combat of our life. Logic, focus, patience and passion were the few important things I gained and cherished.
Sometimes I'm scared that I could not meet the realization of my dreams. The odds are not the hindrance, it does not limit our skills and abilities yet it's God's avenue to open a wide pave of opportunities which He knows we can be more fruitful and successful. It is a horizon to go beyond and conquer. It is something to look forward to.
Doubts and questions that mock me had been given the definite answers. For I believe that what a mind can conceive, the body can achieve. I also used to believe in fairy tales that dream do really come true and has a happy ending story. So let's fly high and aim high like how the eagle soars.
Try out these strategies while you're still in high school, and by the time you get to college, you'll be a test-taking expert.
BEFORE THE TEST
Eat well. Studies show that you need good nutrition to concentrate and perform your best.
Bring the right supplies. Bring your pencils, erasers, pens, rulers, compasses, calculators, or whatever else you'll need on test day.
Review the whole test before you start. See how many sections and what types of questions are on the test. Consider how much time to allow for each section, basing your decision on the point value of each. You don't want to spend too much time on a question that counts for only a few points.
Jot down your first thoughts. From your first look at the test, take quick notes on ideas you might forget. For example, you may want to outline your answers to written response and essay questions right away.
DURING THE TEST
Read the directions. Never assume that you know what the directions say. For example, some questions may have more than one correct answer.
Answer easy questions first. Answering easier questions may jog your memory about useful facts. You may also come across information that can help you with other questions.
Answer every question. Unless there's a penalty for wrong answers, it can't hurt to try.
Ask questions. If a question isn't clear, talk to your teacher. If that's not possible, explain your answer in the margin.
Identify key words. This will help you focus on the main idea of challenging questions.
Rephrase difficult questions. To understand questions better, rewrite them in your own words, but be careful not to change the meaning.
Organize your thoughts before you write. Spend some time organizing your responses to short-answer and essay questions. You'll reduce the time you need to revise.
Write neatly. Be sure you don't lose points on answers the instructor can't read.
Use all of the time you're given. If you finish early, don't race out. Use the extra time to proofread and edit your answers.

November is known as the Halloween month but it is also known for the second part of the college school year—the opening of the second semester. Many students thought of school as the boring place ever. They have wandered and go to school everyday with the same reason as anybody else, which is “to learn”. But there are still students who really don’t feel comfortable with the school stuff and find every lecture boring. We go to school not because our mom told us to but because we have the passion and bring out that inspiration everyday. The inspiration we have is the main key to find your chief reason for going to school.
The passion you’re bearing with will help you to continue schooling even if you’re tired of it. Everyday, Mondays to Fridays or even weekends, 7am to 5pm, students, go to school to master the current course they have taken. There are times we thought of these famous phrases, “I wish the school days end” or “I’m tired! I wish I could just go to a gig everyday.” We may feel tired and tardy especially when we’re facing difficult subjects, overflowing projects, consecutive exams including personal problems. But without all these burdens, we really can’t feel the spirit of a student’s life. There are many reasons why we forget how to handle hectic schedules and evidently will result to the fading of passion for going to school.
With all these things, you just have to think and analyze the situation. Why do you keep on schooling? Because this is the key to success, because mom told me so, because I don’t want to waste the spent tuition, so that I could see him/her. Think of the possible situation after you have find and decided you chief reason for going to school. School is fun. And school isn’t just fun because of the special events, but also to the result of your hard work which can make your parents proud and so to yourself. You just have to bring that inspiration everyday and question yourself everyday, “Are you inspired?”
